It's a nice feeling to get this blog updated again. Hope you enjoy the pictures. It takes a while to get them all on, but I suppose it's worth it. I should get the scrap books and my journal updated...maybe someday.

Prom

Kasey's first prom was interesting. She sure looked pretty!

Angel's Landing

Scott and Kurtis went with the Scouts to Zion National Park on April 9th and 10th to hike Angel's Landing. This is where they were when Kadin broke his fingers. I don't think I would hike this one!

Kadin's fingers are doing much better. I think they are finally about healed. He can keep his buddy wraps off most of the time, if not always now. He can straighten and close his fingers without much problem. Hooray! Last Dr appointment is June 3.

Planting the Garden

Planting the garden was supposed to be a family project, but Scott ended up doing most of it. Kadin and Mason helped for the first little bit (about 20 minutes). Looks great though!

May Days

Here it is May already. We were able to talk to Justin and Devin yesterday for Mother's Day. They are both doing great and loving missionary life. Kadin's pins were pulled last week and his fingers are doing well. Still not healed completely, but almost. We got the garden planted Saturday, I should say SCOTT got the garden planted. He didn't have much help, unfortunately. It looks great! School will be out before we know it and summer will be in full swing. We have another busy schedule this year with Trek, Scout Camp, Young Women Camp, and maybe EFY for Kasey again. Life doesn't slow down for anything.

Just in case I don't get you called, Happy Birthday to David and Mark. I do remember your birthdays, it's just the phone call that I forget!

Pins and Needles

We went to the hand specialist this morning. Kadin's ring finger has shifted since we saw the Dr last week. The specialist scheduled surgery for in the morning. He will insert pins into Kadin's finger after he sets it again. The wires from the pins will poke out of his skin so they can be removed in about 3 weeks. Doesn't sound fun. Kadin is nervous, but will do great. The pinky finger is fine unless it shifts during surgery. If it does, the Dr will insert pins into it as well. That's our news for today...hope all is well with each of you.

A New Meaning for Spring BREAK

Kadin was boasting the other day that he hadn't broken any bones. JINX!!! We spent 2 1/2 hours in the instacare yesterday evening. Check out his ring finger, it's a little off.


After closer inspection, the Dr. found that the base of his pinky was broken too.

Kadin was at his friend's house and they were riding scooters. The handlebars on the scooter Kadin was riding came off and he took a dive. His ring finger and pinky on his right hand have displaced fractures meaning they were broken and shifted. The doctor numbed his fingers and had to pull and move the bones back into alignment. He had several x-rays to make sure the bones were in line. Now his hand and arm are wrapped in a splint so he can't move his fingers and we have to go see a hand specialist next week to make sure all is well. The doctor is concerned because the breaks are near his growth plates. He just wants to make sure all is where it should be. All this happened about a half hour after Scott had left for a campout with the young men at Zion's so he doesn't even know about it yet.

Happy Easter!

It's spring in our area. We've had days like this for the last week or so.


We woke up to about 5 inches of snow this morning. It's almost all melted away now. What a way to celebrate Easter. Conference has been great. All the sessions have been so good. We wish all of you a very Happy Easter and hope all is well with you.

Kindergarten Fun

Today was Wacky Wednesday for Mason in Kindergarten. He got to wear wacky clothes. He wore his pajama tops inside out over a shirt and rolled up a pants leg. He thought he was pretty wacky.


A couple of weeks ago was 101 days of school. The kids got to wear polka dots. I had fun drawing dots on Mason. He looked pretty good!

Elder Hammer #2

The day has come and is now almost gone. Elder Hammer reported to the MTC this afternoon. I think I had a harder time this time than with Justin, but I am so proud of him and happy for his decision to serve the Lord for the next two years. He was ready to go and just as happy as could be. I am awaiting that first letter or email. It sure was different just dropping him off at the curb and watching him go, but I think I liked it better than sitting in a room for a half hour watching those "Family, isn't it about time?" commercials. Two missionaries. I knew it was coming, just seems it shouldn't be here already.

Nursery Rhyme Dress-Up Day

The Kindergarten has been talking about nursery rhymes and had a dress-up day for the final activity. The kids dressed up as their favorite nursery rhyme character and went prepared to say the rhyme to the class. Here's our rendition of Humpty Dumpty!

Preference

Busy Life

This blog just isn't on the top of my to do list right now. Devin enters the MTC on Wednesday, so HOPEFULLY I will sit down and get some pictures downloaded and posted after he leaves. We are excited to have another missionary in the family. Even though it's busy, life is good.

A New Year

Christmas has come and gone too quickly. I can't believe another year is past. It was fun to talk to Justin on Christmas day. He is doing great and is just loving his mission. Devin is getting ready to leave. He enters the MTC February 3. Sometimes I wish I could stop time for just a little while, it seems to fly by much too fast.
